Church of the Transfiguration

Church of the Transfiguration

View looking east at the entrance of the Church of the Transfiguration.  The Church was designed by Antonio Barluzzi and built on the remains of Byzantine and Crusader churches.  It was completed in 1924.

In the foreground are the remains of older structures in the courtyard west of the church.

There is a very helpful article online in arXitecture with much impotant data about the Basilica of the Transfiguration.
