Cana (2)

Cana (2)

View looking southwest from the Beth Netofa ridge down at Khirbet Qana.

Above and to the left (south) of Cana is the very fertile Beth Netofa Valley and the modern Israeli fields are clearly indicated.  Note also in the lower right quadrant of the image the Bedouin tents.  The Bedouin actually have a number of sheepfolds on the slopes of the Khirbet.

In the extreme upper left of this image a canal is visible — this is a portion of the Israeli National Water Carrier System that conveys water from the Sea of Galilee region to the central and southern parts of Israel.

This picture was taken during the later winter months after the winter rains had fallen — note the lush green vegetation.
