View of the southern portion of the main eastern entrance of the Kedesh Temple.  Notice the small indentations on the threshold and on the southern doorpost.

Many interpreters believe that these were sockets for the metal screen that restrained worshipers from entering the temple, yet permitted them to gaze into the inner room of the temple on the statue of the deity.  Compare the façade of the temple at Patara.
