Detail of the junction of the High-Level Aqueduct where one portion (unfinished) turns left (south) while the other continues straight west (towards the mound of grass in the upper right quadrant of the image) before turning south toward Caesarea. This portion of the High-Level Aqueduct continues west from this area, and eventually enters a 1,450 ft. long tunnel that was cut through the kurkar ridge that the city of Jisr ez-Zarq is built—before turning south toward Caesarea.
Also note, on the left (south) side of the image, the arches of the aqueduct that turns left (south) towards Caesarea. This portion of the aqueduct was constructed in the Late Roman Period, but never was completed! It is called "The Unfinished Aqueduct."
