Southwest Corner 2

Southwest Corner 2

View looking northeast at the southwestern corner of the western hill of Jerusalem during the Second Temple Period.

Portions of the “First Wall” in the lower portion of the image have been found on the grounds of the Jerusalem University College—as have remnants of the “Gate [of the Essenes?].”

To the north, on the left, the three Herodian  towers are visible and on the right also visible is the Temple building and the towers of the Antonia Fortress.  Note also, just right of center  the theater.
