Southwest Corner

Southwest Corner

View of the details of the southwest corner of the interior of the Tomb of Annas, the High Priest (AD 5–16).

The "false door" on the right (west) is the one over the suspected loculus of Annas.  The false door on the left, lower portion destroyed, leads to an interior chamber of the tomb.

At the very top of the image note a small portion of the finely carved rosette pattern!!  And just left of center, where the two walls meet note the vertical carved pilasters and also the molding on the walls where they meet the ceiling.
