Israelite Wall Detail

A detailed view of the Israelite wall that dates to the ninth century BC (Omri and Ahab ruled from 885–853 BC).

Note the "header and stretcher" construction as well as the projecting "bosses" and the "margins" that surround them.  Compare the stonework on the Israelite High Place at Dan (also in the northern kingdom).  This type of stonework may have originated in the area of Phoenicia.
