River/Wadi

River/Wadi

Just to the left (north) of center the V–shaped depression (dark green) is the Nahr el–Kalb—it is crossed by the modern bridge.  On the right (south) side of the image is the cliff where most of the inscriptions are located.  The clock in the lower right quadrant of the image is over a modern tunnel that runs through the cliff.

Left (north) of center is a white figure that is a huge nineteenth century statue of the Virgin Mary in Harissa—a popular pilgrimage site for Christians.

All but one of the inscriptions are on the hill (cliff) on the right (south) side of the wadi.
