Ancient Road (2)

View looking north down a modern stair case that follows the narrow ancient path that leads down the southern ridge that armies from the thirteenth century B.C. have used!

The Nahr el–Kalb is visible above and to the right of center.  The cliff face on the right (south) is the one with the inscriptions.  Note the huge statue of the Virgin Mary ins the upper left portion of the image.

The modern four lane highway (lower left) passes through a tunnel that goes under (through) the southern cliffs.
