Second Court

View looking north at the "Second Court" of the Palace of Domitian.  The view is of the central pool, where all the grass and weeds are growing.  Note the intricate design of the walls of the pool.  In the center is a brick island.  A causeway led to it from the area of the mound just to the right of the center of the image. Everything was originally covered with marble!

The whole of the pool was surrounded by a portico—not visible in the image.
