Temple of Asclepius 1

Temple of Asclepius 1

View looking south at the circular Temple of Asclepius (the god of healing).

Only the foundation and the substructure of the temple is preserved.  It was donated by Lucius Rufinus around A.D. 150 and was modeled after the Pantheon in Rome.  It is about 78 ft. in diameter and it contained statues of Asclepius and other healing deities.
