Fortifications 2

The Hellenistic fortifications of Assos consist of finely cut stones which fit together precisely. These fourth century B.C. fortifications of Assos are some of the best preserved in the world. They are over 2 miles [3km] long and in places are preserved to a height of 45 feet [14m].
