Central Nave

Central Nave

View looking east at the interior of the Hagia Eirene.  This brick form of the church, that combined the cruciform and basilica forms dates to its rebuild in 548.

Note the apse of the church in the distance and the aisles on each side.  The modern screen in the apse was used for projection during a concert.  Note the columns and the balcony of the church.  The white netting hanging over the nave protects the floor from the droppings of birds.
