Odeum

Odeum

View, from the gymnasium/baths, looking north at the unexcavated remains of the Odeum. The semi–circular curved area can be seen just above the center of the image. As an Odeum it might have been covered and used for lectures and concerts. It may have also served as a bouleuterion, that is, a council chamber. An inscription has been found that indicates that musical contests were held at Laodicea.
