V.I.P. Seating

V.I.P. Seating

View from the orchestra area looking at the cavea.  Note the 5 ft. wall that lines the orchestra area.  This area was used for wild–beast fights and was remodeled in the fourth century A..D. in such a way that it could be flooded and mock naval battles could be staged!

Just above the center of the image the “box seating” for the elite of Hierapolis, and their guests, is visible.  Click Here  for a closer image of this “V.I.P. Box.”
