A view of the Temple of Hadrian looking north.  The colonnade in front of the cult room supports a semicircular pediment of the Syrian style.  The reliefs over the door lintel depict the myth describing the founding of Ephesus.  The originals are in the Ephesus Museum.

In front of the temple are four inscribed bases that supported statues of the four tetrarchs  Diocletian, Constantius, Maximianus Galerius and (later) Theodosius I.

The Temple was built within the Varius Baths Complex, facing Curetes Street (in foreground).

The monument was donated by P. Vedius Antoninus Sabinus in honor of Emperor Hadrian (r. A.D. 117–138).
