Agora

Agora

View looking southeast at the eastern stoa of the large Agora/Forum at Nysa.  The open space of the Agora is the area in the lower right portion of the image—most of which is unexcavated.  The Agora's interior dimensions are 290 x 340 feet.  It was first constructed in the first century BC.

Note the steps that lead up to the covered portico.  The colonnade is a double stoa in the Ionic style.
