Interior North

Interior North

View looking north at the current interior space of the Donuktash.  The exterior walls are visible on the right (east) and left (west) sides of the image.  In the far center is a second massive foundation upon which the central building (cella) of a second (?) temple probably stood.

In the center of the picture, note the small opening—“secret passage”—from which a student is exiting.  Click Here to view the interior.

Even though this picture was not taken from the extreme south end of the Donuktash, it does give some perspective to its size—335 ft. [102 m.] long.
