Plancia Magna Inscription 2  One of the bilingual inscriptions mentioning Plancia Magna that are still located on the site of Perge.

ΑΡΤΕΜΙΔΙ ΠΕΡΓΑΙ

Diana [a deity] of Perga

Artemis [a deity] of Perga

Plancia Magna

Plancia Magna was a priestess of the main deity of Perge/a, Artemis (Latin Diana).

Plancia Magna was the daughter of the proconsul of Bithynia.  She dedicated her life and her wealth to the beautification of the city [of Perge], undertaking large remodeling projects during Hadrian’s reign [A.D. 107-138].  She was “elevated to the rank of tutelary divinity of the city.”
