View looking south at the three prominent bays on the northwest coast of Malta.  On the right (west) is Mellieha Bay, in the middle Saint Paul's Bay and on the left (east) is the smaller Salina Bay.

Saint Paul's Bay is the bay that has been suggested by many to be the bay where the ship that the Apostle Paul was on ran aground (Acts 27:6–28:1).  Some have suggested that Paul's ship ran aground on Saint Paul's Islands.

Saint Paul's Bay was a major harbor in the Roman Period (= NT era) and remains of a Roman road and baths have been found in the area—in Xemxija.
