Upper Peirene Spring 1

View of the interior of the seldom visited "Upper Peirene Spring that is located on the Acrocorinth that towers over the site of ancient Corinth.

The gable and the supporting columns date to the Hellenistic Period.  At the bottom of the image the "black" area is the actual spring water.  This spring, along with cisterns, would have been the citadel's water supply during times of siege.
