Pillared Basilica

Pillared Basilica

View looking west at the remains of a sixth century A.D. Christian Basilica Church. The intended building was to be quite large, but some speculate that it was never completed due to the fact that the expansive dome could not be completed (or it collapsed).

This building is called "Basilica B" and is located south of the Roman Forum. Four massive corner pillars of the church are still standing as is its western wall and a few rebuilt columns and Byzantine Capitals.
