Galilee Boat

Galilee Boat

View looking straight on at the bow of the first century A.D. boat.

After the boat was discovered (1986) and excavated, it was soaked in a synthetic wax (polyethylene glycol) for almost TEN years. Now it is tastefully displayed in the Yigal Allon Center on the grounds of Kibbutz Ginosar.

The structure at the back of the boat is moved on rails (visible) so that technicians can maintain and service the boat from above.
