View looking south at the Augustus Temple complex and "Tiberius Square" that leads up to it.
In the center of the image is the Tiberius Gate with its three–arches entrance way. Notice the steps that lead up to the Gate (Propylaeon) from the "square" (actually rectangle) to the right of it = "Tiberius Square." The "square" was bounded on both long sides by shops and was used as a type of forum at Pisidian Antioch.
To the left (east) of the three-arched gate is the Plaza in front of the prominent Temple dedicated to the Roman Emperor Augustus. The plaza in front of it is 210ft. wide and 280ft. long. The temple itself is set in a semi-circular, two-story, portico.
This whole complex was the religious and political center of the city.
