Three cartouches, among many, representing captured enemies of Thutmose III. From right to left the cities of Kadesh on the Orontes, Megiddo in Canaan, and Hazi in Lebanon are represented within the cartouches written in Egyptian Hieroglyphics.
For details of the First Campaign of Thutmose III into the land of Canaan in 1457 B.C., his capture of Megiddo, and other events see the Zondervan Atlas of the Bible, pp. 100–102.
