A young grapevine at the early part of the growing season (early summer) as the leaves and grapes are beginning to form. At this point, some of the leaves may be removed and eaten. In the lower right portion of the image note the thin stalk of this young plant. The surrounding soil is the red terra rossa soil that is found in the Hill Country regions of Israel/Palestine.
Note how this area has been lightly plowed and kept free of weeds.
