Varlaam Winch House Interior

View of the interior of the "Winch House" at the monastery of Varlaam.  Supplies from far below were raised into the monastery at this point.

In the foreground note the winch which was turned by hand.  On the floor the "rails" on which the cart is moved are visible as are the cart and the hook in the distance.
