View looking into the vaulted outer corridor of the Odeon. The wall on the left bears the text of the “twelve tablets” — the law — of Gortyn. These stones are in secondary use. They were taken from an early, fifth century B.C., building that originally “housed” the law code.
The whole wall from its base to the beginning of the vaulting is inscribed!
