Detailed view of the inscription on the statue base located in the small temple located just west of the staircase. The temple was probably devoted to the Roman Emperor Nero (r. A.D. 54–68).
The small monument was dedicated by Gaius Stertignius Xenophon of Cos, the personal doctor to the emperors Tiberius, Claudius, and Nero.
