View looking west at the south end of the stadium, at the starting area. On the left (south) side of the semi–circle is a stone structure that was a fountain that fed fresh spring water into the troughs that ran around both sides of the track.
On the right side of the image, the vertical line of stones is the actual starting line, called a balbis.
