Water Channel (1)

View along the south side of the stadium at Olympia, looking west.  In this image the stone channel that carried water around the stadium, along with a rectangular settling basin, is visible.

The water was used to sprinkle on the surface of the track—to cool it—and by spectators to refresh themselves.
