View South

View looking south from OT Jericho.  The green vegitation is part of the the modern oasis of Jericho.

The Judean Hills are visible in the distance.  Where they drop off and disappear to the left (east) is the site of Qumran—near where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

The large building in the distance in the upper left quadrant of the image was the casino(!) of modern Jericho.  It has now been turned into a hotel.
