View looking northeast at the central apse of the twelfth century Crusader St. Anna Church that is located just to the east of Tel Maresha. Tel Maresha is called Tel Sandahanna—a name that is derived from this church.
Please note the surrounding countryside so typical of the Shephelah: low rolling hills with scrub vegetation—no fields—because of the hard Nari crust. link
