View inside a burial chamber from the Byzantine period (A.D. 325–639). At least four of the 16 Byzantine crosses are visible. On the cross on the right, the Greek letters "alpha" and "omega" are visible above the horizontal cross bar. Note in the New Testament Revelation 1:8; 221:6; 22:13 — "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.
