View of two frescos that depict various ceremonies associated with the Isis cult. They were found at Herculaneum near the theater.
In both frescos note the altars in the foreground and the entrances to the temple in the background. The ceremonies take place between the altar and the podium of the temple. Note the palm trees, garlands, and crowns. The worshipers are arranged in two "wings" leading up to the temple.
On the fresco on the left note the two Egyptian Sphinxes that flank the doorway.
These frescos are on display in the Naples Archaeological Museum.
