View of the Greek dedicatory inscription above the door that leads into the tomb of Jesus. The view is from within the burial chamber of the tomb of Jesus looking east, at the east wall of the chamber.
Translation:
Above the cross "It is shown" and below the cross "Remember Lord (of) your servant, the royal Kalfa Komnenos of Mytilene 1810" (Mytilene is an Island in the Aegean).
Translation courtesy of Dr. George Kalantzis.
The inscription is part of the rebuild of the tomb monument after the great fire of 1808.
