View looking down on to the area just outside (west) of the “Second Wall”—the area of Calvary.
The wall meandering from lower right (south) of the image towards the left (north) edge of the image is the representation of the “Second Wall” of Jerusalem during the days of Jesus.
Calvary, the place of the crucifixion of Jesus, is represented in the lower left portion of the image—in the place where the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is located today. Note how Calvary is placed alongside the road (Matt 27:39; Mark 15:29; John 19:20) that leads out of a gate in the Second Wall (Hebrews 13:12).
