View looking east northeast at the middle chapel of the church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu.
Just left of center is an opening in the floor though which the rock–cut caverns of the lowest level of the church can be viewed. Behind the altar and suspended cross is a mosaic of Peter weeping because of his denial of Jesus (Luke 22:62).
