View looking west northwest at the area of the “Pool of Siloam” before the current excavations.
On the right (north) side of the image, the well–known “Pool of Siloam” is located (but not visible; Click Here to view) below the minaret.
The recent excavations have taken place in the lower center portion of the image, where there is a paved path. Today (summer 2005) the area in the lower left (south) portion of the image is a garden. This area is owned by the Greek Orthodox Church and has not yet been excavated.
