Administrative Palace

A photo of the Late Bronze Age palace complex that is located just to the west of the Podium Complex.  The view is looking north.  Much of the palace's mudbrick walls still retain their original clay plastering (partially covered by blue plastic).   This picture was taken in October 2016.

A portion of a Sphinx statue was discovered in the palace, as well as storage vessels and vessels used in food preparation.  This building was destroyed near the end of the Late Bronze Age as "is apparent from very thick layers of destruction that include ash, burnt wooden beams and burnt and collapsed mudbricks.
