View looking northeast along the northwestern portion of the defensive wall of Jotapata. This portion of the wall is a double wall (= casemate wall) and defends the position where the Romans focused their attack on the city
Note the large field stones used in the construction of this wall. Note also, the large tower the projects from the wall to the left (west). This portion of the wall was evidently constructed during the late second century BC.
