A photo of the statue of Elijah slaying the prophets of Baal on the grounds of the Carmelite Monastery at Muhraqa. Muhraqa, meaning "the sacrifice" or "it burns" in Arabic, is the site on Mount Carmel at 1,580 feet that commemorates the event described in 1 Kings 18:18–46 where Elijah "defeated" the prophets of Baal and Asherah.
