View looking west southwest at the entrance to the synagogue that is in the eastern wall of the building.
The two vertical doorposts are visible and a detached portion of the lintel is visible to the left (south) of the left doorpost. Originally the whole door was carved of one solid piece of limestone—which is very unusual! Usually the lintel and doorposts were carved of individual blocks of stone—as the synagogue at Katzrin or the pagan temple at Patara.
The niche of the synagogue, facing towards Jerusalem, is located in the southern wall of the structure—just left of the center of the image.
