View of one of the "neighborhoods" (insula) at Chorazin. In the center and left is the large paved courtyard around which a number of houses are located. In the foreground are two rooms of a house with basalt walls and floors. Additional houses are to the right and beyond the courtyard. This concept of houses being constructed around a common courtyard is called an insula. This type of neighborhood construction was also used at Capernaum.
