View of one of the partially reconstructed Early Bronze Age broad houses at Arad. These are called "broad houses" because the door (just below center of image) is in the broad (long) wall of the building. Also visible is the bench on the interior of the building. Usually the door was placed on a hinge on the left side of the door opening and in this house a socket is still visible (but not in this photo)
