Eastern Negev Basin

View looking east from the top of Tel Arad.   The hills in the distance form the eastern ridge that bounds the eastern edge of the Biblical Negev.

In the middle of the image, the loess soil of the Biblical Negev is visible.  This image was taken in mid-January—note the light green vegetation that is beginning to grow.
