View of an Ibex resting in the grove of Mesopotamian Poplar Trees in the En Avedat Canyon.  These wild goats roam on the cliffs and steep slopes near water sources such as those found at En Avedat.

Because they need to drink water, hunters, from time immemorial, have hunted them near water sources.  However, they are now a protected species in Israel.
