View looking south along the west side of the foundation of the Temple of Jupiter. In the upper left, note that the temple was composed of rubble and that was covered with about 4-6 inches of plaster—that was carved to give the impression of large ashlar blocks.
The green grass behind the arch is the area of the Forum. To the left of the children, the 10-foot high foundation podium is visible—it too is a rubble construction that is plastered over.
The temple platform is 10 feet high, 120 feet long, and 55 feet wide.
