Conon Inscription

Jerome Murphy–O'Connor translates it (p. 425) as "Gift of Conon deacon of Jerusalem."  Conon was martyred in Asia Minor during the reign of Decius and is said to have said "I am of Nazareth in Galilee, I am of the family of Christ to whom I offer a cut from the time of my ancestors" (JMO p. 424).
