North Theater

View looking north down into the semi–circular cavea of the North Theater (lower half of the image).  Note the excavations in the center of the orchestra area.

Beyond the theater, to the north, is the area of a Hellenistic Temple (to Zeus?) that is being excavated by a German team.  Note the excavations on the left (west) side of the image.

Note the hills in the distance that are covered with pine trees.  This picture was taken in early July—note the lack of grass!
